Mission, Values and Methodology

Mission

We equip organizations, teams, and individuals with skills to effectively achieve their respective objectives with energy, creativity, efficiency, satisfaction and commitment.

Values

Participation: The ability to participate fully and productively in work relationships is the most important factor in the success of any organization.

Freedom of Choice: The freedom of each individual to choose whether, when or how they use the increased capability resulting from our work is paramount.  It is important to us that the skills we teach not be seen as a value system.

Client Independence: Teaching these skills so completely that the client no longer needs us is our measure of  success.  We rejoice when our work is done.

Responsibility: Individual success depends on the person alone.  We teach people how to be independent of external circumstance or other people.

Methodology

Our methodology is derived from the Person Centered Approach adapted for use in organizations by Ernie Meadows and the staff of Camelot:

Learning: Adults decide what they are ready to learn and when they are ready to learn it.  Camelot designs learner centered experiences that are responsive to the readiness of the participant.

Relationships: Successful relationships at work depend on three skills: congruence (what I want), empathy (what you want) and unconditional positive regard (prizing what you want for its own sake, without filtering through my own values and biases).

Benefits: Using these three skills results in an increase in initiative and motivation.  Employees want to take responsibility and to hold themselves and their co-workers accountable; they start to really listen to one another; their working relationships improve; conflicts become opportunities; and problems are seen as challenges, not obstacles.

Camelot consultants use, model, teach, and facilitate these three skills...and we get involved in your work issues.
