Leadership is an extraordinary development of a person requiring a vision, a calling, a grasp of the future as well as the capacity to carry people along. The Leadership Program is an extraordinary application of the Person Centered Approach--Camelot's most advanced and challenging course. Each group of graduates builds on the development of the preceding groups. Each adds to the body of knowledge which makes The Leadership Program truly dynamic. It is designed to allow learning to take place as and when the participant is ready. This is accomplished by creating an environment where it is possible to be open to new concepts and experiences, while at the same time being challenged to probe for answers and seek insights. This is not strictly speaking a training approach, it is a learning experience. Dedicated to developing Leaders with the integrity, understanding and vision necessary to move organizations into the 21st Century, Camelot teaches leadership through the Person Centered Approach (PCA). PCA focuses on the human interrelationships without which business cannot be accomplished. The core conditions of PCA--congruence, empathy and unconditional positive regard--are taught on an advanced level, then practiced, explored, widened and applied to the tasks each leader faces particularly the relationship of leader to follower. Leaders must gain the commitment of others to make their vision a reality. The Leadership Program is seven sessions focused on: Advanced PCA skills New Community Application of PCA to Work and Organizations Power Lab New Work Community Philosophical Grounding Moral Grounding Each component is an intense experience. Camelot has spaced them at six-month intervals to prevent overload, to allow for as much absorption as possible between components and to interfere as little as possible with participant's work schedules. The content places emphasis on experiencing situations confronted daily by leaders. Leaders need high quality business discussions concerning real issues and real results. The experiential aspect is balanced and complemented by theoretical and practical discussions, short lectures and speakers from the world at large. Reading assignments include the latest thinking on leadership as well as some more time tested classics. |
